Howelsen Place

Back to Projects

Howelsen Place commands Steamboat Springs’ most prominent downtown intersection at 7th and Lincoln—often considered the city’s “Main and Main.” This premier mixed-use development features 42 uniquely designed residential flats, offering a range of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans that cater to a luxuriously comfortable and stylish mountain lifestyle.

Framed by the iconic Howelsen Hill—the oldest continuously operating ski area in North America and home to the continent’s most extensive ski jumping complex—Howelsen Place embodies Steamboat’s deep-rooted skiing heritage. The hill serves as a world-class training ground for alpine, Nordic, and freestyle athletes, from beginners to Olympians.

A milestone project for ESA, Howelsen Place was the firm’s first development designed using Revit, showcasing a commitment to innovation in architectural design. Blending contemporary mountain aesthetics with the energy of Steamboat’s historic downtown, this landmark property offers residents unparalleled access to world-class recreation, dining, and cultural experiences.
